Thank you for stopping by to visit our website.  We are so glad you are here.  We hope you will stay for awhile -- as clients and as friends.  We are proud to say we are on the 4th generation of many of our pet clients -- and our first human client, back in 1981 is still with us today.

We are a small, personalized pet sitting and dog walking service catering to pets of all types, shapes, sizes and species.  No one service fits everyone -- we design services to fit you and your pets' individual needs.  We are licensed, bonded, insured and pet first aid trained.  Our client base includes individuals from all walks of life -- from Oscar winning actors, to area veterinarians, to law enforcement professionals on the local, state and federal level -- from students to working professionals -- from military to stay at home senior citizens -- we are proud to service you all.

We are diverse!  We have a special fondness for our senior citizen pets, and love our very young ones, too ... and everything in between.  Your pets quickly become part of "our" own extended pet family.  While you are away, whether on vacation, business travel, at work, or just simply out having fun -- we will be there. 

Extra Hours first came to be in 1981 as a part-time pet sitting business to pay for college expenses.  It quickly grew into a full time, 24/7/365 service in 1990 (yes, 21 years ago).  Pets are our passion.  Offering this type of service allows us to work with all types of furry, feathered and scaly pet family members -- in your home -- while maintaining a reasonable number of our own pets, in our home. A dream -- if we won the lottery -- to open a pet sanctuary.

We provide services to the Northern Virginia areas of Alexandria (City and Fairfax County), Rose Hill, Kingstowne, Franconia, Springfield, Lorton and Burke areas.  Additional coverage areas are considered on a case by case basis.  Please give us a call and let's talk.
